CME/CE/CPD Tracking with UpToDate

UpToDate® is accredited and recognized by colleges, associations, and authorities from around the world, and is a globally accepted information resource and learning tool. When a clinical question is researched, UpToDate tracks both the search activity and the time spent reading topics. Subscribers can select AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ (3-step learning cycle) or choose to document hours spent researching. With this flexibility, UpToDate fulfills a variety of continuing education requirements for clinicians around the world.

AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ is also useful to physicians outside the United States, because many countries and professional boards accept them for licensure. To see how you can use UpToDate to fulfill continuing professional development requirements in your country, please visit http://www.uptodate.com/home/cmececpd-accreditations.

Tracking Credits

Subscribers with an individual subscription to UpToDate, or who access UpToDate from an EHR or other clinical system that has implemented the UpToDate integration API, can earn CME/CE/CPD credit – at no additional cost – each time a clinical question is researched.

Tracking Time

Many professionals need documentation of time spent reading a clinical resource. In many countries and professions, UpToDate meets the requirements for self-directed learning. For example, many physicians in Australia and the UK track their time spent using UpToDate to fulfill e-learning/self-education requirements. Please check with your local authority to see if time spent using UpToDate is accepted in your country.

Earning and redeeming credits through UpToDate is a simple process and does not require tests, fees or the use of a third-party provider.
